I don't get out all that much anymore. But, I'm making more of an effort now that frog breeding season has arrived. Last weekend, on upper Beaver Creek, I was hearing and seeing Red Crossbills most of the time while hiking aound. On Wednesday, I was hearing and seeing Red Crossbills along Muck Creek on Fort Lewis. Today, they were ever-present along Delphi Road near Dempsey Creek.

Are others seeing Red Crossbills with regularity?

I'm thinking about the apparent Pine Siskin irruption this winter and wondering if Red Crossbills are also here in greater-than-normal numbers, perhaps due to a cone crop problem in more boreal areas.
