We were birding in the Skagit Sunday and came across a very disturbing
discovery of a dead hawk. It seems the hawk had been electrocuted and fell from
the pole top and caught his neck in the metal brace. He is now hanging by his
neck, spread eagle so to speak. Chilling sight. We think it is an immature Red
Tail. We have pictures which we can send to anyone. It is at the corner of
Chillberg Road and Hulbert Road, across from the large red barn, second pole
in. If anyone knows how to retrieve him/her and respectfully take care of
him/her, please forward this information to whomever can do this. Sad to see the
Red Tail like this.
