hi ... for all you folks still wishing you'd seen the Arctic Loon ---
I went out to Blind Slough/Brownsmead and the Knappa Docks yesterday
(Sunday 2/17) ... did 3 stops at the Blind Slough concrete bridge
between 12:00 and 3:30 ... no Arctic Loon and no Red-throated Loon
... met a couple of other cars of folks (one couple from Tucson) out
hoping to see the Arctic loon ... they also came up with nothing ...

didn't look for tweety birds (altho saw lots of starlings and
robins), but on the sloughs/water ways here's what I saw ...

Blind Slough ---
Western Grebes
Pied-billed Grebes
Coots
one adult and one youngster Glaucous Gull fishing on the Slough
one Northern Harrier flying the edge of the Slough
a hawk of some sort who flew before I could get the car stopped
one large flying creature which I'm thinking was a young eagle

Saspal Slough ---
Pied-billed Grebes
one Coot hanging out with a female Bufflehead

Flooded fields ---
Mallards
Northern Pintails

Knappa Slough ---
Scaups (LOTS)
one Horned Grebe
many others -- not powerful enough equipment to identify

Marsh between Knappa Slough and the Ziak-Gnat Road ---
Mallards
Northern Pintails
American Wigeons
Ring-billed Ducks
Hooded Merganser
Bufflehead
Gadwall
Kingfisher
and one old-fashioned white barn-yard goose ...
