Tweeters,
Tina and I went on the WOS winter field trip to Okanogan and Douglas
counties over the three day weekend. The trip was wonderful with good
weather, excellent views of many good birds, great traveling companions, and
outstanding trip leaders. For us, the highlights were:
* 30+ Sharp-Tailed Grouse at the Scotch Creek WLA
* A beautiful Northern Goshawk perched in Conconully
* A flock of about a dozen Clark's Nutcrackers in Conconully
* 75 to 100 Grey-Crowned Rosy Finches coming to a feeder near Knob
Hill
* A very photogenic Northern Pygmy Owl near Chesaw
* A Snowy Owl being harassed by a Common Raven near Mansfield
* The McKay's Bunting along Cameron Road
Ruth Sullivan and Stefan Schlick's years of experience and intimate
knowledge of the terrain and the birds was invaluable. They really did an
outstanding job of leading this trip.
Thank you Ruth and Stefan!
