Greetings All
Today, Doug and Barabara Schonewald, David Irons, and I birded along the
Columbia River from Vantage to Priest Rapids Dam. We had a nice male Tufted Duck
viewable from the Priest Rapids Dam side of Desert Aire. There are thousands of
G Scaup there as well. We had two LT Ducks just above Priest Rapids Dam and
two LT Ducks from the boat launch in the town of Vantage. We also had a Pac
Loon just below Wanapum Dam
We saw a fair number of Say's Phoebes and a few VG Swallows and Tree
Swallows.
Among the throngs of Cackling and Canada Geese in the river near Desert Aire
were 6 minima race Cackling Geese, uncommon e. of the Cascades. We had 4 more
at the County Line Ponds near Corfu.
Best Wishes
