Hi Tweets,

We (Larry Baxter and I) took a walk this afternoon through my Kenmore neighborhood, and due to the (semi) temperate weather we decided to diverge from our usual route and extend our walk. We chanced upon a new section of the neighborhood that we were unfamiliar with, and found a particularly nice piece of habitat that was busy with the sounds of tweets in the throes of early Spring. I spied a bird far off in the background in some Western Red Cedar and trained my specs that direction, and let out a spontaneous "OH!" when it flew and I saw a bright yellow flash! We continued to watch the general area, and were treated to some wonderful views of what we later identified as a female TOWNSEND'S WARBLER.

We found ourselves surprised to see a warbler, and in such full color, and maybe especially this one whose range in our books isn't necessarily favorable to a visitation here, this early in the year. Is this unusual? This was a first on our Life List for us both.

Either way, it was quite a treat and the highlight of our relaxing and enjoyable long walk.
