ch-nch is a canadian call sign in the canadian coastguard. The hovercraft proably started life ferrying passengers from Portsmouth to the Isle of White in England and was more than likely sold to the canadian navy.I could not find a perfect match but 4 craft still in service use ch- as the beginning of there call signs.More digging would more than likely find a match.I saw one in service north of nenaimo on the sand bars after the tide had gone out. Also I remember seeing something simular on a ferry ride to the Isle of White in the sixties as a boy.I often visit Bellingham so I'll have to check it out.
