a few weeks ago, i asked for information regarding birding southern
california in the palm springs area, and the tweeters community responded.
while i wasn't able to thoroughly enjoy myself on the trip (seems i slept a
lot due to high fevre), i did manage to get in a bit before the fevre was a
yoyo and my pillow was a constant companion...
among the nicer photos: golden eagles and hawks, herons and egrets,
phainopepla, nuttall's woodpecker, and gambel's quail... and, thanks to a
wonderful inland empire birder, i was able to photograph inside the living
zoo, south of palm springs: mexican wolves, mountain lions, giraffes, and a
set of miniature trains that must been seen to be believed (over an
acre!)...
i would like to thank everyone who had a hand in this adventure. i
appreciate the help immensely, and hope to visit more in the coming years...
photos are available in the PHOTOS of the MONTH gallery, of course...
enjoy!
