I was one of the frustrated birders earlier today who failed to find the
Bohemian Waxwing. I gave up when it started raining in earnest. However, I
gave it a final try on my way home from some birding at West Point. About 4
PM I was ready to give up when I noticed some birders in the area where
there were ca. 50 Cedar's feeding this morning, that is, along the paved
trail past the old bunker thingies between the tennis courts and the kite
hill parking lot. They hadn't found them but we decided to give it a final
try. Amazingly, I heard the Bohemian and spotted it high in a cottonwood
with some robins. Got decent looks before it flew off out of sight. So it's
still around, but can be elusive.

At West Point I had ca. 25 Bonaparte's Gulls in mid-channel. Curiously, we
completely missed Bonaparte's Gulls for the CBC despite a boat crew and
saturation coverage. Apparently the winter flock had moved north during the
previous few weeks.

Also at West Point I was able to pick out the Clark's Grebe in the large
Western Grebe flock just north of the lighthouse.
