Tweeters,

This morning from approximately 7:45-9:45am we observed this gorgeous owl.
It perched on the yellow diamond shaped warning sign post just past the
crest of the hill (driving North from Grand Coulee intersection of hwys 174
and 155 on 174). I believe this is where the owl was originally sighted.
Others enjoying the owl were (I hope I have these names correct), Ron
Dexter, photographer from Spokane, and Ryan Shaw and Tracy from Tacoma, and
a man from I believe Seattle area who observed the Black-headed Gull at
Electric City's Coulee Playland log boom area at dawn (he'd stayed at the
motel the night before). At about 9:45am (just as Bob Flores and Ken
Knittle were approaching - darn a very close miss!) the owl took flight off
towards the river flying at an angle taking it across Douglas Co. corner.
Owl flew well beyond the river, so into Okanogan Co. It then turned around
and was heading back towards us but just as it was back to the nearest ridge
it veered off behind the ridge and we lost view of it.
