Dear Tweeters,

At least one and probably several Ancient Murrelets
were visible today at Washington Park's Green Point in
Anacortes (Skagit County). There were also a few each
of Marbled Murrelet, Common Murre, Pigeon Guillemot,
Brandt's and Pelagic Cormorant, and Mew and
Glaucous-winged Gulls. A few Western and Red-necked
Grebes were out there, but numbers of birds were low.
I saw zero passerines in the gale. The wind made it
very difficult--one had to find a lee spot in order to
keep the telescope from shuddering.

One Pigeon Guillemot had me puzzled--it was mostly
black already. That seemed early to me.

Yours truly,

Gary Bletsch
