Tweets,
I've been out of town most of the holiday season so just today caught up on
the BirdBox reports. Seems the old beast is getting some use. I believe all
of the sightings reported on the BirdBox since the first of December have
also been posted nearly simultaneously on Tweeters. Several detailed efforts
were noted to find the Black-headed Gull and N. Hawk Owl near the Grand
Coulee while several other reports spoke of rare gulls at the Cedar River
mouth (apparently two different Slaty-backeds December 23 and 28) and a
Glaucous (age unspecified) reported yesterday, January 5, late in the
afternoon at Gene Coulon Park on the booms just s of Ivars by Curtis Pearson
(206-722-9107). Scott Atkinson left his Everett CBC rarities report December
16 (also posted on Tweeters) while the Magnuson Park Bohemian Waxwing was
noted by Ryan Merrill and Matt Bartels on January 4th (as reported also on
Tweeters; still there this morning).
