Hi All. Pretty quiet this morning while I was there. 14 species that I was
able to identify and a handful of little birds in trees and bushes I
couldn't.

Big JOY of the day for me along the lines of Connie's essay. A birder last
week asked me, at the fill, if I had seen the Meadowlark. No, I hadn't. Then
I heard talk of them on this board. My hope this morning was all Meadowlark.
( will see it, won't see it) As I was walking from that first pond from the
parking lot and the path turns and parallels the canal my hopes rose. I kept
walking and just before the main pond to my left some birds flew from the
grasses to the top of that squiggely tree. All the branches are curley que.
3 Meadowlarks at the top of the tree! They stayed for a long time and gave
other birders joy as well. No singing for me though.
