Subject: [Tweeters] Anacortes to Fir Island

I drove to Anacortes this afternoon, praying I'd find
a clear spot. The rain stopped just before I reached
Anacortes' Washington park. There were many birds on
the north side of the point. Best one was a male
Harlequin Duck close to the shore. Others were
Red-throated, Pacific & Common Loons, Pelagic
Cormorant, Marbled Murrelet, Pigeon Guillemot,
Red-breasted Merganser, and Red-necked Grebe.

Only missing bird was my target -- the Ancient
Murrelet.

Found a few shorebirds, Least & Dunlin, near the
refinery.

Drove back via Fir Island to see huge Snow Goose and
Swan flocks along with a changing of the guard as a
Short-eared Owl followed a Harrier across the field.
