Subject: [Tweeters] Bohemian Waxwing Present 1:00 PM Today

Hi all,
For those of you who know me - this is Brendan McGarry - I've been
absent for awhile because of school, work, and being abroad in Australia
this fall. And I've changed my e-mail to allow for a tweeters/other bird
listserv e-mail. Anyway....

Today at Magnuson Park around 1 PM, my father and I located the
Bohemian Waxwing amongst a flock of Cedar Waxwings, American Robins, and
Red-winged Blackbirds. We found it to the Northeast of the Tennis Courts,
on a little muddy trail that takes you under some deciduous trees (Alders I
assume). It was very cooperative and we enjoyed good views of it gulping
down Hawthorne berries. There are Hawthorne bushes everywhere, so if the
bird isn't there I would check around a bit. You'll probably hear the flock
of birds before you see them (because they are low down), so I'd listen to
zero in on a group. Beautiful bird!

Cheers,

Brendan McGarry
