Greetings Tweets:
Taking some out of state birding friends to my favorite Okanogan birding
locales. Best birds:
- 2 Northern Goshawks--both ad.--1 along Central (or Center) Ferry Rd
out of Bridgeport, and 1 near the intersection of Havilah Rd. and Nealy Rd.
- 14 Sharp-tailed Grouse along Conconcully Rd. near its intersection
with Happy Hill Rd.
- 400 (rough estimate) Snow Buntings 1/4 mi. west of intersection of
Havilah Rd. and Nealy Rd.
- 16 Gray Partridges in two flocks between Omak and Conconcully.
- 6 Chukars along Rd. 174.
Many thx to my friends Khanh Tran and Stefan Schlick for trip
suggestions, tips, etc. (And we still have 2 days to go!).
Best, Mike

Oval office tape 2/17/71:
Erhlichman: . . .whether to include the HMOs like Edgar Kaiser's
Permanente thing.
Nixon: You know I'm not too keen on any of these damn medical programs.
E: This is a private enterprise one.
N: Well that appeals to me.
E: Kaiser is running his Permanente deal for a profit. And the reason he
can do it is all of the incentives are towards less medical care, because
the less care they give them, the more money they make.
Nixon: Fine
E: And the incentives run the right way.
Nixon: Not bad.
