I'm getting a kick out of this birding humor--sure hits close to home, doesn't it?! It reminds me of what a birding friend's non-birding spouse said about the ABA checklist codes.

(The ABA checklist codes reflect ease of finding particular species. For example, code 1 birds are widespread regularly occuring species, while code 5 birds are accidentals, occuring 5 or fewer times in the ABA checklist area.)

The spounse said that the codes are in reality how many hours you need to drive to find a particular species. This was said after many hours in the car chasing a code 5 bird.
