Dear Tweeters,

I did not see Wayne Weber, but I did stop today at
West Edison on the Samish Flats, in order to miss the
Harris's Sparrow. There were five Eurasian Collared
Doves there. I heard them first; they make an odd,
flatulent-sounding or coot-like call. Then I got a
look at them from no more than five meters away, right
near the pink guard rail. Besides the six "good"
Eurasian Collared Doves, there was a sixth bird that
may have been slightly smaller. It was much paler,
with some white patches above, and an overall color
that was more the color coffee with milk than the
greyish-tan of the EUCD's. I wondered if it could have
been a "Ringed Turtle Dove."

Earlier in the day I saw four, rather than the usual
three Eurasian Collared Doves in Sedro-Woolley. As the
species has been getting more common, I wondered when
I would have a day with two separate sightings, and
today was it. Who knows, by the time I do a century
run in May, I may find them in five or six different
places!

Oh yes, the Pacific Golden-Plover was with over 100
Black-bellied Plovers along Farm-to-Market Road, just
west and north of the west end of Sunset Road.
