Hello all,
We birded the west end of Walla Walla County today - and the Spotted
Sandpiper is still at the base of the spillways at Ice Harbor Dam - our
first wintering bird. There were hundreds of Common Mergansers, Common
Goldeneye's, Mallards, and 63 Am. White Pelicans. Also a couple dozen
Barrow's Goldeneye's.
Mike chummed the gulls in and among them were three Mew and one Western, 56
Herring and 6 Glaucous-winged in with many Ring-billed's and California's.
At Charbonneau Park was one N. Saw-whet Owl but no owls at Hood Park.
The "poop piles" had many gulls and blackbirds - with a pair of
Yellow-headed's mixed in.
Later, ML
