Yesterday I watched an unusual chickadee at a feeder in Wedgewood in Seattle. It was with a small flock of black-capped chickadees. It was much lighter than the others and it's back was white. It had a white spot in the top of it's head and it's head was more dark gray than black. It visited the feeder frequently throughout the day. Of course I didn't have my camera with me. Can anyone tell me if this is a different species or if it is just a leucistic individual?
