I would tend to agree with this analysis. However, I would not limit the problem to raw peanuts. The problem could also occur with your peanut butter if it was made from affected peanuts. So, although I know of no reason for birds not to ingest peanuts, I would suggest tasting any peanut butter that you use to make sure it does not taste rancid.
