I got a real treat last night when I heard a Great Horned Owl outside the house hoo hoo hooing away. I stepped outside to hoot back to him and he seemed to enjoy the conversation. Just as I was ready to head back inside I heard a Barn owl screech a few acres away. The GH owl stayed put and continued to hoot for about 45 minutes. He left and then came back in about an hour. It been many years since I have heard a GHO hang around and hoot.
