Hi, Tweeters, I'm sure there are some birders checking out Okanogan Co.
this long weekend. Just came home from looking at a Harris Sparrow at the
feeder on Lake Woods Golf Course. This is on the road to Bridgeport State
Park.

It is easy to see the path we've taken from about 1/2 way down the road
from the beginning of the golf course. Actually, there is a big metal
gate, but you can step over the fence.

Caution: Earlier today a county sheriff told the owners of the vehicle
pulled off there, that they were blocking the road, and should park in the
lot up by the clubhouse. Since the State Park is closed, I can't imagaine
who would find their way blocked, but that is what she told them. (They
did not get a ticket.)

In the State Park the earlier couple also saw one Saw Whet Owl, and near
the feeder with the Harris Sparrow there were 2 Great Horned Owls.

On the Douglas Co. side of the Columbia, at the fishing place behind the
dam, that we call the burn pile, the Am. White Pelican is swimming about.

Have fun, drive safely and get some nice birds. Meredith Spencer,
