Hi Everyone,

Late this morning I found a Rough-legged Hawk in the Snoqualmie Valley. An image (fairly distant, and in the rain, so not the greatest) can be found at http://www.tubbsphoto.com/-/tubbsphoto/detail.asp?photoID=5508086&cat=38975. The location was along Tualco Road between the old prison farm/Crescent Lake and Tualco Road's intersection with SR-203 north of the prison farm, on the left hand (west) side of the road. Since this species is quite unusual in the Snoqualmie Valley (although the location of this bird was very close to the confluence of the Skykomish and Snoqualmie Rivers, so was almost in the Snohomish Valley), I wonder if this is the same bird reported by Joyce Meyer. Joyce - did you get a good enough look at it to see if the markings look like this bird?

I drive through and bird the Snoqualmie Valley frequently enough that I was hoping to find a Rough-legged there this winter, although there are not many records based on feedback I received last year, so I was very happy to run across this bird today.
