situation, and decided to driving to Bottle beach, even so the tide was still
high, the same at we arrived at 7.00Am.As we arrived at Bottle Beach the rain
got less,we was seeing a big flock of 100 Canada Geese flying on to
Westport.
Connie Slides was right, the way to the beach was muddy and hard to walk do
the the heavy rain earlier. There is a toilet set up in front, what been there
not to long since it was still clean. As we enter the beach the tide was
going out a little and there where about 500 Dunlins with about 30
Sanderling heavy feeding. We decided to sit in the car and eat our lunch and
waiting to the tide is going out some more, this was at 12.30 PM.
As we got back to the beach we was so surprised to seeing the beach from one
side to the left to well down to the right full of Dunlins and more
Sanderlings with 7 Black-bellied Plovers. We this estimated the Dunlins and
coming up with over 7000 and 50 Sanderlings. As we standing the tide went out
some more and a flock of 60 Marblet Godwit's flying in landing all in the
water,so we both was so happy that the day was not a loss at all,and we felt
good being there to see all the many Shorebirds. There was a Bald Eagle and 2
Blue Heron on the beach.
