Hi tweets,
Wendy and I packed up our 9-year-old grandson, Milo, and drove to Rockport
and further upriver to show him Bald Eagles-his favorite bird---up close and
in high numbers, we thought. Wrong, we saw 9 or maybe 10. He didn't
complain, though we were wondering where they had gotten to. On the way
back to Seattle we detoured to Fir Island where we saw 8 in one field, two
extended families of 4 each, while 100 yards away there 4 in a tree around a
nest next to the parking area for viewing Snow Geese. No geese there, but
further north, off Moore Rd. there were thousands of them, very close to the
road and a dozen carloads of people happily taking photos and video in the
bright sunlight. Draw your own conclusions.
Good birding, Alan Roedell Seattle roedell at speakeasy.net
