For those who want to preview sightings at the River "S" Unit of the
Ridgefield NWR need to go to the Friends of the Refuge Weekly Wildlife
Report at
www.ridgefieldfriends.org/WildlifeReport.html. A new list is put out each
week with sightings added daily. Some of the unusual sightings noted over
the last couple of days were a Tree Swallow, Cassin's Finch (rare), Ross's
Goose, Western Meadowlark, and a beautiful Harlan's Hawk and Rough-legged
Hawk, both that have been seen daily over the last couple of months. These
sightings are always done by two birders who collaboratively pool their
sightings for the report.
