Hello,
Thank you to all of you who have been sending me reports of swans in
Snohomish/King/Pierce counties. They are greatly appreciated.
You may be aware that on or about Jan 11-12 a distributional shift of swans
and snow geese happened. Swans moved down into the mid-upper Snoqualmie
Valley area and about 5-6,000 snowgeese moved into the Snohomish Valley near
Harvey Field (SR9 and Marsh Road). Keeping track of this event has been
possible due to all of your sightings.
Lake Langlois is a great place to see the swans leave and come to roost.
If any one sees swans there during the mid-day or finds a sick/dead bird
please let me know. Also, if anyone finds swans using the Carlson's fields
off Neal Road/SR 203 please let me know.

Thanks again. It has been fun to also see all the other birds - blackbirds,
raptors etc. as we monitor the swan areas.
