I am of the opinion that the environment is not rich enough to withstand the onslaught of the sheer volume
of starling poop that rains down on the earth.
interesting website

"Because they congregate in very large flocks of up to thousands of birds,
body weight and droppings from roosting European starlings can damage
and kill trees. "( apparently Garry Oaks are particularly vulnerable)

" Starlings can also change the structure and composition of
plant communities by dispersing seeds, including those of exotic species.
Large numbers of starlings feeding on soil invertebrates can deplete
this fauna."
