Greetings from the Upper Skagit. I am one of three staff members for the Skagit River Interpretive Center, and I do the eagle census from Rockport to Marblemount for the Nature Conservancy. Bald Eagles are streaming out of the valley, yet there have been some interesting sightings besides eagles. From the window of the interpretive center, one can see the feeders that our neighbor keeps well-stocked. Among the hordes of purple and house finch, a lone male Cassin's Finch arrived today, Friday, January 25, 2008. Last week, a single Common Redpoll made a brief appearance, and a White-throated Sparrow has been spotted on multiple occasions.
