Hi all,

When I woke up this morning my cats were running from window to window and
making that little chattering noise they make when they seem something
feathered and bite-sized outside. I quickly discovered why they were so
excited and I soon found myself running from window to window right along
with them. Out my kitchen window I saw a small mixed flock in the
neighbor's fir tree. I saw both Black-capped and Chestnut-backed
Chickadees, one Townsend's Warbler, and a couple birds that were most likely
Bushtits that never fully showed themselves. I then went to the front
window where I watched a female Anna's Hummingbird feeding on newly opened
cherry blossoms in my front yard. Next I looked out into the back yard
where a male Anna's was helping himself to the blossoms on another cherry
tree, Steller's Jays were calling from a cedar and a Bewick's Wren was
feeding in and around a Rhododendron. Not a bad way to wake up in the
morning!

I spent most of the rest of the day processing photos and creating a new
"Shorebirds and Waders" gallery on my website. I also created a new
Cormorant gallery earlier in the week. Both can be found on my photo
galleries page here: http://www.goatislandimages.com/photogalleries.htm
Check them out if you would like, and any feedback you have is much
appreciated!
