The Arctic Loon photos at Browsmead, OR, reminded me of photos I took at the Crescent City, CA, Marina just over a month ago (December 19, 2007). The wind and rain were such that I had to brace myself against structures to steady my camera, so please excuse some fuzz.

Can anyone confirm that these photos also show an arctic loon? I ignored the possibility at the time because of the reputed rarity of this bird. Is it possible that this bird is expanding its range?
