This morning at about 8:30 am, I heard a Northern Pygmy-owl while I was walking on the Green River Community College forest trail. It was somewhere in the upper branches of a coniferous tree. It gave a series of single note calls, and I continued to hear it until about 9 am, when I had to leave the trail. I checked again at 10:30 but it had stopped.

The snow was very beautiful today at the college. This is about my fourth encounter with a Pygmy-owl here. Some of my past encounters have been up close.
