Hello tweets,

I wrote a piece about some new peer-reviewed data
regarding yet a third hypothesis -- proposed by Ken
Dial at the University of Montana -- for the evolution
of flight in birds that you might wish to read,
entitled "Flying Lessons: Additional Insights into the
Evolution of Flight in Birds";

Also, thanks to an aviculturist whom I know, here is a
wonderful video link to a hummingbird nest that
documents the activities there from the appearance of
the eggs until the chicks fly away. I was amazed to
see how deeply momma thrusts her beak into the chicks'
crops when feeding them -- it made me wonder if the
mother ever pierces their crop and kills them?
