I went down to southern California last year for the Kern Valley Spring birding festival, and would recommend it to all. They had great birding trips in all kinds of habitats, and allowed me to finally, finally get Lawrences's Goldfinch, along with second life view of LeConte's Thrasher. If you are interested, go to:
