Hi Tweeters,

I heard goldfinches this am off of 9th Ave N and
Harrison St. Planted in that location are what I
think are called plane trees. They have fluffy seed
balls that the goldfinches like. My first in city
goldfinches.

There are the same type of trees near Portage Bay on
campus and when the goldfinches are on those trees
they will rain debris down on you while they are
feeding.

I usually see goldfinches during the nonbreeding
season at home and on campus. I have heard some early
singing by them on campus recently.
