During a knotweed management exercise, an EarthCorps crew discovered a Swainson's Thrush nest with two chicks and an unhatched egg. They appear to be newly hatched as they are bald with little down. The nest was located about 3 feet above ground in knotweed patch. Once discovered the crew did leave a buffer area. I observed a Swainson's Thrush on the nest a day later.

Has anyone observed other species nesting in knotweed?
