Hello Tweeters.
The Bairds Sandpiper I found yesterday already, but since I did not had my
Scope to see this bird better ,I went back and found this bird back ,to
confirm my sightings. Also there where a lot more Shorebirds today than
yesterday increasing 3 times the amount. All birds where on McAllister Creek
to the photo blind.I found the Bairds close to the same location as
yesterday, right after the corner to the right. The habitat is now perfect for
Shorebirds. This bird was close to the Western, but all alone. The bird stood
out since this was the only Shorebird seems larger and the Western
nearby, with the scope I could see the bill was straight where as the Western
have kind of slight drooped bill. The bird had extremely long primaries, well
past the tail.
This bird was standing close to mounds of mud and the channel of water. The
appearance on this bird seems kind of golden glowing color. All together
this to the Photo blind there where 250 Western Sandpipers. On Friday I found
4 Long-billed Dowitchers, today there where non, also I had only few
Yellowlegs on Friday, but today there where 7 to the blind and Jim Pruske had
also around seven beyond the dike. There where 2 Spotted Sandpipers.Shorebird
Migration started now in full swing. But it is best to take a scope, since non
of this birds are close.
