Subject: [Tweeters] Theler Wetlands Today

I spent a couple of hours at Theler today, from about 11:30-2, not the best
time for birding but it was still a very nice outing. Saw the usual
suspects, won't list 'em all here. Of note were two GREEN HERONS. Got good
looks of the two in flight and of one perched on a partially submerged
cattail. Unfortunately saw a BROWN-HEADED COWBIRD. I watched a male
RED-BREASTED SAPSUCKER work on a sapling until it was joined by a femal
RBSA, then the two birds got into a squabble and he took off. Conspicuous
by their absence were Winter Wrens, didn't hear a one. Must've been their
siesta time.

Good birding,
Mary
