Subject: [Tweeters] Swainson's Thrush Nest in Knotweed

The Swainsons Thrush nest which was located in a knotweed stand was empty today. And the unhatched egg was still unhatched and on the ground. It is likely that these birds did not survive the July 4th weekend and the reduced cover at Snoqualmie Falls. A thrush was still in the remaining patch just above the nest so perhaps the birds are still around. Does anyone know if these hatchlings would survive nest displacement a week after hatching?

I'll send a photo to those that asked this weekend.

Thanks
Anna
