Six of us had brief looks at the Juanita female American Redstart between 10
and 10.30 this morning. It was in the reported spot along the boardwalk just
north of the beaver pond near the Wooded Wetland sign, moving both sides of
the walkway. We didn't spot it spontaneously, but we'd only been there
around 10 minutes when a man with a camera arrived and played a recording,
which made it appear from the depths of a bush. Other fun sightings at the
park included a male purple martin harassing an osprey perched on the post
above the gourds.



The Marymoor green herons near the rowing club are clambering through the
branches and flapping their wings. I suspect they won't be around much
longer. We had good looks, after carefully picking the right angle through
the leaves, at five juveniles and both adults returning to feed them.



Thanks to everyone who's contributing to my poorwill advice - I will report
on any successes on my return!
