Hi, everyone! While walking our dog this morning, I happened to look down &
see a tiny bird looking up at me. Seems the golden crowned kinglet I'd seen
several days ago had a nest in the trees behind our apartment complex, & the
babies had just fledged. I managed to pick it up & put it back in a tree, near
where the parents were fussing. Then I found a second chick & did the same.
This is an area where cats prowl & people walk their dogs, so the fledglings
would have been easy pickins for canine or feline (thankfully, our dog would rather
protect baby birds than eat them).

I took a pic with my cell phone, & will be happy to send it to anyone interested in seeing it. The pic isn't very good, but these babies are soooo adorable - & very tiny!
