I went to watch the Rhinceros Auklets today off West Point in Discovery Park. This is a good time of the year to watch Auklets in this place. They were intermingled with a flock of about 80 Glaucous-winged Gulls. I counted roughly 32 Rhinoceros Auklets but they were coming and going and quite a few were underwater at any given moment. I noticed that sometimes the bulk of the Gulls would move to another spot and the Auklets followed. It looked like a feeding frenzy today.

If you want to see Rhinoceros Auklets go to the West Point Lighthouse, set up your spotter scope or just sit on the rocks around the lighthouse. I believe a couple of years ago a rare Puffin was seen here. Was that correct?
