Thanks to all who sent information on North Dakota birding. After taking it
all into account, it seems that the preferred destination for sparrows is
Lostwood NWR, where there is a good probability of clay-colored,
grasshopper, and Baird's sparrow, although the Baird's may be more easily
heard than seen. The advice is that Henslow's are further east than North
Dakota, but since I will continue to Minnesota and Wisconsin, I may have a
chance at those as well. Sprague's pipit should be at Lostwood as well.



Somewhere on this trip I am hoping to get a look at black terns; they do
appear on the Lostwood bird list-we'll see.
