This morning 5 of us tried unsuccessfully for Mountain Quail this morning in the foothills north of the Elma/Satsop area.? We accessed the area from the end of Newman Creek Road.? Although, we didn't chance upon any quail, we did have a good assortment of birds seen and heard while driving throughout the hills.? We also stopped by the Chehalis Wildlife area (Schouweiler Rd. wetland) for a brief look.? Here's a list of what we spotted today:
