For Bryan and anyone else who wants to know what a Cicada sounds like try going to 'Songs of Insects' online at www.musicofnature.com<http://www.musicofnature.com/> which has recordings of many insects. The range map for 'Dog Day' Cicada shows it to be possibly found here and the sound is pretty close to the many Cicada's I've heard here in Washington State.

I found this site after a trip to southern Ontario last august To a native Puget Sounder, with our mostly guiet nights, the great Eastern insect chorus (day and night) is truly amazing. I was able to confirm some insect sounds using this website.
