I just got a phone call from our son, Brad Cady, who spotted a
male SURF SCOTER just below Bonneville Dam, in Skamania County on July
17th. At the time he was with a group of biologists from the USF&WS and
BPA when the bird flew past their boat heading downstream. A new addition
to this year's county list and an unusual date for that species on inland
waters.
