Hit the Lavender festival on Vashon Island with the fam today.

a) Honey-lavender ice cream is REALLY good.

2) Saw some birds: Double-crested cormorants, of course, at all of the ferry docks; Pigeon Guillemot, a Bald Eagle, and lots of swallows (including Northern Rough-Winged, which I don't seem to see as often) at Point Robinson Lighthouse; also a RED-NECKED PHARALOPE on the ferry ride from Vashon to Tacoma on the way home (life bird - woo hoo); Saw a loon on the same ferry run, but I'm awful with them - is it only commons that are around in the summer? Hard for me to ID.
