Hi Vicki and tweeters.

I don't know much about 'list's' for the moses coulee area, but one good resource for finding vertebrate distributions in Washington is the Washington State GAP Analysis which is online at the Washington State Dept. of Fish and Wildlife website. (look under 'wildlife science'/maps/vertebrate dist.). Good maps showing distribution of Reptiles and Amphibians, Mammals, and Birds all over the state. So you could make your own list if need be.

As far as insects go - good luck ! Dennis Paulson's "Dragonflies of Washington" and Robert Pyles "Butterflies of Cascadia" are good local insect guides (both published by seattle audubon) that cover all species in the state in their respective realms. For general insect indentification , I find "Petersons Field Guide to the Insects "a good start. From there I go to online sources such as BugGuide.net to try to figure out insects. I find it difficult to find very good range information on insects in general.

Good Luck, Jeff Gibson
