?? What parent's will do for their young.? The Eagle nest (2 blocks east of the fill on NE 41st and about 39th Ave. NE) has 2 young ones in the nest and they have not fledged yet.

I was at the Montlake Fill late this afternoon and observed a Bald Eagle dive into Lake Washington, Osprey-like, and grab a duck (perhaps a Mallard). ?It then proceeded to slowly swim the approximately 100 feet to shore dragging the duck. ?It hauled itself out onto the logs an the north end of the bay by Laurelhurst with fine dining in mind and proceeded to have dinner. ?Kind of gruesome, but interesting.? The most interesting thing about all this was seeing the eagle paddle all that distance with the duck in tow. ?

??????????? I was taking digiscopic pictures of all this.? Most were worthless, but some came out pretty well!? If anyone wants to see one or two, I?ll be happy to send them.
